Origin of Strong Sad

I believe I may have found the artistic origins of Strong Sad - the character from Homestar Runner.

Exhibit A: The following is an excerpt from The Temple of Elemental Evil, an adventure module from the Dungeons and Dragons game.

A throne-like golden seat stands in the room's center. One tapestry shows the round-bodied, elephant-legged, fungi-headed bulbous thing seated on the throne chair, amidst a revelry of fungoid forms.

Exhibit B:

Round-bodied? Yes. Elephant-legged? Yes. Fungi-headed? Possibly. Bulbous? You bet. The throne-like golden seat standing in the room's center is - I am almost certain - a coincidence.
