Sleepy Hollow

Just saw Sleepy Hollow. The fights kick ass. They were choreographed by the Darth Maul guy. The effects were also very very ILM. More need not be said.

I had just read the book version like 1 hour before I saw the movie - and I would like to say Where is the food!

The food in the book took center stage easily commanding 10% of all the description. Apples, apricots, cakes, pies... all in lucious detail - but we only see ONE APPLE in the film. Tim Burton - where is your sense of food!

Also there were a few characters I was assuming they would develop more, like the 'Bram' guy.

Anyway there were a lot of differences between the two. From what I hear, the Disney version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was actually closer to the story than the new movie.

Here's a handy chart of the differences:
Tim Burton Movie Short Story
Everyone Dies - like 10 people, but not the main character. No one dies, except for possibly the main character.
Bram dies. Katrina marries Bram - who is not dead.
Very little mention of food. Lots of food mentions.
No Ichabod singing or dancing. Ichabod sings and dances.
Ichabod is a forward-looking constable sent from New York to investigate murders. Ichabod is a school teacher, who is neither forward-looking, nor investigatory.
Ichabod beaned with a pumpkin. Ichabod beaned with a pumpkin.
Actual supernatural juju. Implied supernatural juju.
Lots of violence, and gore, and blood, and more gore. There's some gore for the sake of gore. Only violence is contained entirely within the "Pumpkin Beaning Incident".
Gratuitous building explosion. Gratuitous food explanation.
